Membership
Mallaig Heritage Centre is a charitable organisation set up in 1985 to establish and run a Heritage Centre for Mallaig and the surrounding districts. The Heritage Centre opened in 1994 and ever since has filled various needs within the community, most noticeably as an interpretation centre where visitors to the area can obtain information and learn about its history. It also provides the facilities of a local museum, capable of accurately interpreting the unique and complex history of the district, and provides resources for local schools. The Heritage Centre is an Accredited Museum and a full member of Museums Galleries Scotland. It is also a registered charity no. SC016510 and a registered company no. SC095600.
Because of the small local population the Heritage Centre needs the support not only of local people, but of everyone who is interested in the Centre and area it serves. As a member of the trust you are entitled to free admission to the Centre and receive our annual newsletter. All members are encouraged to attend General Meetings of the organisation and are eligible to stand for office. Above all, membership is a valued way in which you can show your support for the Mallaig Heritage Centre.
